Totes Necessary.

Trying it's best to save the planet, one bag at a time - the tote is doing just that. Since the 5p charge has been added to (most) carrier bags in the UK meant the use of them fell by 86% since the levy was added, according the Independent Newspaper.

The tote bag.

The alternative.

Time has been up for a lot of things in the year of 2018. This is one of them. We have all been guilty of bagging one single drink because it's going to make your hands cold, using a bag every time we bought something in a shop in-case we needed it later on ...

It is quite sad that a charge was needed to stop the majority of plastic bag users to convert to an alternative. This is just the start of tackling the plastic crisis.

There are plenty of alternatives, okay it has become a fad and a lot for the bags for life are quite over priced, however cool alternatives which are affordable can be a simple string bag, tote bag or fold up bag which can be found on sites such as Ebay, Etsy, Amazon and lots of Small shops/Highstreet shops for very good prices. I always keep a couple in my bag I have on me, a few in the car and you are never without one.

Another alternative when going shopping if you forget your bags are the cardboard boxes. These aren't pointed out enough in the supermarkets - whether it is Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, anywhere they always have FREE cardboard boxes which the food is brought into the shops in usually hanging around the tills, they are strong, stackable and easy to carry.

I know that removing plastic bags completely is not the most popular option. However we have to question are they really necessary in our daily life?
